A healthy smile begins with a child.

As dental professionals, we truly believe in preventative dental care and want to encourage our patients to bring their children to to see the dentist from an early age. Regular check-ups from a young age will ensure children won’t suffer from untreated dental decay. Studies have also shown that the younger the age that you bring your child to the dental practice, even for a simple check-up, the more likely they are to have a positive experience and grow up with no dental anxiety or phobias.
We want to ensure that all children feel at ease and even enjoy their trips to the dentist, that’s why at Refresh Dental we have a dedicated children’s play area in reception as it is vitally important to us that all our patients, no matter how young, feel completely relaxed & comfortable when they are here.

Treating a child from an early age also allows the dentist to spot early signs of underbites, cross bites or overbites developing. As with most things, the sooner you can start to treat it, the easier it can be resolved. As part of our family package we aim to help reinforce a positive approach towards your children’s dental health. Prevention is the best cure so contact the practice today to make an appointment for your child.

Your child’s reaction to his first visit to the dentist may surprise you. With an experienced team, you can trust us to take care of introducing your child to dental care.

The first baby teeth that come into the mouth are the two bottom front teeth. You will notice this when your baby is about 6-8 months old. Next to follow will be the 4 upper front teeth and the remainder of your baby’s teeth will appear periodically. They will usually appear in pairs along the sides of the jaw until the child is about 2 1/2 years old.
At around 2 1/2 years old your child should have all 20 teeth.
